Cosmetic cubes are cubes primarily used for aesthetics. All cosmetic cubes have no armour, no mass and cost 1 Cosmetic/Normal CPU. Before the Tech Tree update in summer of 2018, they could only be found in Salvage Crates. Since the Robocraft Infinity update, they are now unlocked by making a purchase from the Item Shop.
Cosmetic Cubes have a dedicated CPU pool, which varies in size according to the status of your Robocraft account. Standard users have a Cosmetic CPU pool of 6 CPU, limited Premium users have a Cosmetic CPU of 12 CPU and Lifetime Premium users have a Cosmetic CPU pool of 24 CPU.
When the threshold of your Cosmetic CPU pool is exceeded, any Cosmetics added will contribute to your normal CPU pool instead. Depending on your account, a 2,000 CPU Bot with all 24 Cosmetic CPU used will be seen as either a 2,000 CPU Bot to other Lifetime users, or a 2,012 or 2,018 CPU Megabot to Standard and Limited Premium users.
Uses[ | ]
Most cosmetic cubes are only used for aesthetics, but some have additional uses:
Vapor Trails and Holoflags have particles trailing behind them. This feature can allow you to see which direction you are moving while scoping, to measure drift, and to look great. Note that the trail will make your bot easy to track.
The Speedometer can be used to measure speed. Your current speed appears both on the block and on the HUD. It will continue to display on the HUD even when the block is destroyed.
The Altimeter can be used to measure altitude. Your current altitude appears both on the block and on the HUD. It will continue to display on the HUD even when the block is destroyed.
The Robot Name Banner displays the robot's name on the block.
The Headlamp generates a cone of light when toggled on.
A small 3x1x1 cube that allows the user to see their current altitude. It is displayed on both the block and the HUD, and will continue to display on the HUD even if the cube is destroyed.
5x5x1 holoscreens that are awarded for reaching each league rank. They display the desired league on the screen. You can purchase additional badges, provided you have reached the league rank.
A small 3x1x1 cube that allows the user to see their current speed. It is displayed on both the block and the HUD, and will continue to display on the HUD even if the cube is destroyed.
Displays a vapor trail behind itself, much like the holoflag. It comes in two variants, single and twin. The single variant emits one trail, that lasts for 3 seconds before dissipating. The twin variant emits two trails, that last for 5 seconds.
("You no longer need a Pilot Seat to drive your Robot, the Pilot Seat object has been removed altogether to prevent confusion"--Robocraft official website).
Now they're back as cosmetics. However, they cannot be forged or found in crates.
Given to players who played during Robocraft's early access phase (or those who redeemed promotional code...), each seat was awarded depending on when players created their account.
There are four different seats, the Cray (2017), Mega (2016-2017), Gene (2015-2017) and Retro (2014-2017) pilot seats.
As each player is only capable of receiving one of each seat they can be considered more valuable than legendary items.
